You see, the sad thing is, I know he's an asshole. Well, not an asshole, but he lacks people skills needed to fund a functional friendship/relationship. He's self-loathing in his insecurities which run plentiful. And although he may think he has it all together, he knows what he wants and what he's doing, he doesn't. And I sympathize with those he's let go because maybe he shouldn't have. Maybe those were the ones that would always be there to pick him up no matter how badly things were between them. So I'm sorry to say that instead of him letting go of me, I'm letting go of him. For me, it's just easier this way.
